The Imagination Library combines the national reach of The Dollywood Foundation with local, community-based affiliates. The Foundation selects the books, negotiates wholesale prices and manages printing and mailing.
As Waltham's local affiliate, we're responsible for two things:
- Enrolling families, so that every eligible child in Waltham is signed up.
- Paying for the books and postage for every enrolled child.

Families sign up
A Waltham parent or guardian enrolls their child, from birth to age five, at no cost.

We register your child
We add your child to the Imagination Library's national book-ordering system.

A book arrives every month
The Dollywood Foundation's program picks an age-appropriate book and mails it with your child's name on the label.

We cover the cost
We pay $3.00 per book, including shipping, or $36 per child per year, thanks to local donors.
Spreading the word
It's up to us to let Waltham families know about the program. We're building partnerships with trusted local organizations that already work with young children and their families.
